2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupe... Hyundai is planning a surprising reveal for the spring 2011! As announced at a dealer meeting in San Francisco recently, Hyundai will bring a two-door Elantra Coupe to the market. The 2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupe release date has been set for spring this year, meaning we are only a few months away from it.
Hyundai has not released any official details about the up-coming 2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupe, so we will have to wait until the model gets its official unveiling. It is very likely that the all-new 2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupewill make its official U.S. premiere at the New York auto show, which starts on April 22nd.
2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupe sales should commence shortly after its official debut, so those interested in a car, should hurry up and visit their local Hyundai dealer to pre-order the two-door coupe. Why? As you know, the all-new Elantra sedan has been in huge demand ever since it hit the market and Hyundai has had plenty of troubles meeting a demand for it. We are expecting the same to happen with the Elantra Coupe.
Under the hood, there will be the same 1.8L Nu engine as in the four-door Elantra sedan, however, the four-cylinder engine will also get a more potent variant. Hyundai engineers will apply a gasoline direct injection -GDI technology and turbocharger to the existing powerplant, which means more power than now. Expect the 1.8L engine to churn out around 210 horsepower.
The 2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupe will also get a dual-clutch transmission (DCT), which debuted recently in the 2012 Hyundai Veloster 3 door coupe. Stay tuned for more news about the up-coming 2012 Hyundai Elantra Coupe!
